Isolation amplifier/ isolation transmitter definition:
     Isolation amplifier/ isolation transmitter is a small instrumentation equipment , it can  linearly proportional convert  AC current , AC voltage , DC voltage, DC current signal into mutual isolated different DC voltage or current signal, but the professional technical personnel also call it Isolation amplifier , battery isolators, signal isolation distributor ( refer to single -input multiple-output ) , isolated converters , fence, isolation module IC, barrier , the title is varied,different companies isolation amplifier/Isolation transmitter name product is not the same , on the whole ,enterprises call isolation amplifier/ isolation transmitter  are more common name .
    Isolation amplifier/isolation transmitter  module is mainly used in high common-mode voltage environment of signal transmission , signal isolation, signal acquisition and long-distance transmission without distortion .data acquisition and isolation the measured signal  and control room, AD、 PLC、 DCS、 PC and other systems. Thus improving the common mode rejection ratio, while protecting the electronic equipment, instruments and personal safety. Why industrial signal need to be isolated?
Since the industrial field is a very harsh and complex environmental conditions , various interference (celestial discharge interference, thunder interference, generator frequency interference, the inverter frequency interference, corona electricity spark discharge interference and other electrical equipment frequency interference, inductive interference, etc.) through different coupling method(capacitive coupling, electromagnetic coupling,
shared impedance coupling, leakage current coupling) into the measurement system,causing the measurement results deviate from the exact value, seriously the measurement system will not work, so we need the interference suppression to the industrial signal, that is say, using isolation transmitter to take isolation measures.
     
What is isolation?
Isolation is to destroy the interference interference means ,cutting off interference coupling channel, so as to achieve a technical measure to suppress interference. Commonly used isolation methods: electromagnetic isolation, modulation isolation, optical isolation,optical fiber isolation,capacitive isolation.    

Conversion, amplification, long-distance transmittion, protection function:    
1、Convert one form  signal into another form signal.
2、Convert  various physical quantities into standard industrial control signals: for example:convert  Pt100 RTD signal into 0-5V analog signal,convert 0-5A AC current signal into 0-10V or 4-20mA analog signal ,convert  0-500VAC signal into 4-20mA analog signals
3、the standard analog signal converting: such as 4-20mA to 0-10V ,0-5V to 0-20mA
4、amplification the small signal to  easily processed  standard analog signals,converting the vulnerable to interference DC voltage signal into  DC current signal, and long-distance transmission signal without distortion, such as 4-20mA signal can be transmitted to 1000 m or farther.

     when  signal long-distance  transmission ,lightning surges or high-voltage pulse will cause sampling equipment (DCS、 PLC、 PC, control equipment) damage, adding isolation amplifier/transmitter isolation can protect the upper critical control equipment, control device,instrumentation and the following receiving device security, such as PLC, DCS, industrial machines, data acquisition card, instrumentation, etc., adopting isolator have the function of isolating voltage, which has played an effective protection the sampling equipment. (There is some isolation amplifier/transmitter isolation products as"own damage" way  to protect their equipment, or other devices, unsafe signal burn isolator first, after burn isolator signal path is cut off, equipment or other device to be protected. )

      Isolation transmitter/amplifier typically requires a power supply (although there are passive isolators, power supply  just took  input signal  from the  internal  isolator to drive the isolator work), commonly used power supply are DC power and AC power supply,  commonly used AC power supply is: 220VAC, DC Power Supply commonly used are: 24VDC、15VDC、12VDC、5VDC, not commonly used power supply  are 48VDC、72VDC、110VAC, etc.

4、Installation ( package )
      Isolation amplifier/transmitter generally adopt DIN35mm rail mounting , wiring type has terminals perforated type,this installation type isolator installed in a cabinet or control room .
